There’s a Travel Writers and Photographers Conference coming up at Book Passage in August, so who better to be our salon speaker for the month than experienced freelance travel writer, Michael Shapiro. Michael is an award-winning writer, photographer and interviewer whose work appears regularly in national magazines and metropolitan newspapers. He’s the author of A Sense of Place and specializes in travel, but his interests range far and wide — since 2011 he’s been the gambling columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle. Michael will share notes and anecdotes on his travel writing career and adventures.
