Melinda Adams, aka Lilycat On Sunday, May 18th from 12-2pm, join Left Coast Writers® Live on FCCFREE RADIO’s popular show, Lilycat on Stuff. Lilycat’s guest on Sunday will be Kristin Elizabeth Clark
Kristen always knew she wanted to be a writer. Freakboy, her critically acclaimed young adult debut, received starred reviews from Kirkus, Booklist, and Publishers Weekly. It is a top 10 book on the American Library Association’s Rainbow List dedicated to GLBT themed books for children and teens. Freakboy took top honors in its Northern California Book Awards category this year and also made the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) list of Top 10 Best Fiction for Young Adults in 2014.
In Freakboy‘s razor-sharp verse, Kristin Clark folds three narratives into one powerful story: Brendan trying to understand his sexual identity, Vanessa fighting to keep her and Brendan’s relationship alive, and Angel struggling to confront her demons.”
“A sincere, profound rendering of sexuality, queerness, and identity.”
—The Horn Book
