Barbara Ridley was born in England but has lived in California for most of her adult life. After a successful career in nursing, she is now focused on creative writing. Her debut novel, When It’s Over, set in Europe during WWII, won the IBPA Benjamin Franklin Silver Medal Award in Historical Fiction. Her work has appeared in literary journals such as Mud Season Review, The Forge Literary Magazine, Persimmon Tree, The Copperfield Review and Stoneboat, among other places. This second novel, Unswerving, set in contemporary California, is inspired by her experience as a spinal cord injury nurse practitioner.
