Fans of A Confederacy of Dunces will love An Inch in Time, a strange and surreal romp through time and space that follows the life—and afterlife—of a young man named Justin Oliver Inch.
Inch spends his life mistakenly believing he’s a gifted writer after misunderstanding his third-grade teacher’s intentions. As he struggles to find his way in the world of adults, he decides to live up to his third-grade potential and enroll in Professor Jud Roy Lebowitz’s creative writing class.
There, Inch meets an incredible cast of characters, including beautiful Peppy Zipline, dowdy intellectual Leslie Tomatiny, and self-proclaimed “goddess” Dino Quiet-Room. Each woman, along with Professor Lebowitz, impacts the narcissistic young Inch in a different way, ultimately setting off a chain of utterly bizarre and surprising events that will keep readers in stitches.
Hilarious and unexpected, An Inch in Time doesn’t just explore the awkwardness of human relationships and interactions—it celebrates them in all of their strange forms and phases.
Denise Pinhey writes humorous stories. Her first novel, ““An Inch in Time” shines a humorous light on the awkwardness of the human condition, especially when it comes to social interaction. Denise Pinhey grew up in Saugus, California, a horsey, deer infested, country town famous for its rodeos and lax liquor laws. When she was old enough to drink, Denise married, joined a wine club and moved to Alamo, CA, a horsey, deer infested, country town famous for nothing.
